Please read these terms carefully. They set out the rules for using Book Leaves (the “Site”), however you access it. By using the Site you confirm that you accept these terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.
The publisher of the Site is Webedia GmbH, Cuvrystraße 3–4, 10997 Berlin, Germany (registration HRB 114531, Amtsgericht Charlottenburg, Berlin; VAT DE264913326). “We” or “us” means Webedia GmbH. To contact us, see the Contact page or the Imprint.

These terms refer to documents that also apply to your use of the Site, including:
Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms from time to time. The version on this page (effective date above) replaces earlier versions. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
Your use of the Site
The Site is for personal and non-commercial use only, unless we agree otherwise in writing. You may download or print portions for your personal, non-commercial use only. Any other use of materials on the Site — including reproduction, modification, distribution or republication — without our prior written permission is prohibited, except where copyright law expressly allows it.
You agree not to frame the Site for any purpose unless we specifically authorise it.
You agree that you will not use the Site to submit or knowingly receive material that:
- is obscene, threatening, abusive, offensive, defamatory, invasive of privacy, misleading, hateful, discriminatory or otherwise objectionable;
- infringes another person’s intellectual property or other rights;
- encourages criminal conduct or would give rise to civil liability;
- is technically harmful, or contains viruses or other malicious code;
- amounts to unsolicited advertising or spam; or
- makes excessive demands on bandwidth or impairs our systems.
You must not impersonate any person or misrepresent an affiliation when contacting us or submitting content. You must not attack the Site, attempt unauthorised access, or gain a greater level of access than authorised.
Except where we expressly authorise it in writing, you must not use automated means — including bots, scrapers, crawlers, spiders or similar tools — to access, copy, collect or extract content or data from the Site. You must not use Site content to train, test or improve artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems without our prior written permission.
Do not use contact details published for legal or company purposes to send unsolicited advertising.
Monitoring and user submissions
We have no obligation to monitor user-generated content, but we may remove material at any time. You are solely responsible for content you submit. Submitting content does not guarantee publication. If you wish to complain about specific user content, see Contact or How to complain.
If you breach these terms we may refuse further submissions and, where relevant, restrict access. We may co-operate with law enforcement or comply with court orders requesting information about people who have submitted content in breach of these terms or the law.
Rights in content you send us
If you send, upload or post content to us for publication or use on the Site (including tip-offs and letters), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable licence to use, reproduce, publish, communicate to the public, translate, create derivative works from and distribute that content in any media. You confirm that you own or are entitled to grant those rights, and that you have any necessary consents from people featured (including parental or guardian consent where children are featured).
You have no claim to payment for granting this licence unless we agree otherwise in writing. Publication remains at our discretion.
Competitions and prize draws
Competitions or prize draws may be operated by us or by third parties. Where a third party operates the promotion, that will be made clear and additional terms may apply between you and that third party. Arrangements you make with third parties as a result of a promotion are between you and them, except where the law requires otherwise.
Do not rely on information on the Site
Content on the Site is provided for general information. It is not advice on which you should rely. Obtain professional or specialist advice before acting (or not acting) on the basis of Site content. We make no warranties that content is accurate, complete or up to date, and we do not accept responsibility for reliance on it beyond what the law requires.
Links to other websites
The Site may include links to third-party websites or services for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or availability. Sometimes a link may be affiliate or commission-bearing; if you buy through such a link we may receive a commission, which we disclose where used.
Our intellectual property
Design, text, graphics and other material on the Site (other than user-generated content), and the selection and arrangement of that material, are owned by us or our licensors unless otherwise credited. Trade marks and logos belong to their respective owners. Reproduction beyond personal, non-commercial use or what copyright law allows requires prior written consent.
Accounts (if offered)
If we offer user accounts, the details you provide must be true, accurate and complete. Keep passwords confidential. You are responsible for activity under your credentials. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use. You may cancel an account by contacting us. We take reasonable steps to keep systems secure but cannot guarantee that the Site is free of viruses or that unauthorised access will never occur.
How we may use personal information and cookies
We use personal information as set out in our Privacy policy. We use cookies as set out in our Cookie policy.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law: the Site and its content are provided on an “as is” basis; we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Site, reliance on its content, or third-party sites or services linked from it, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise; and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss of data that was avoidable by reasonable backups on your part.
Governing law
These terms and your use of the Site are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that may apply if you live elsewhere in the UK. Courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, subject to those protections.
